Job summary

Apploi in Bedford, Texas is seeking a friendly Activity Assistant for a PRN role at a newly renovated Transitional Care Unit. You will bring compassion and a positive attitude to residents, helping to deliver engaging activities and social programs.

Responsibilities include supporting the Activity Director, coordinating events, and maintaining resident activity documentation. This is a facility that values excellence in care and employee recognition.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of experience in long-term care is required.
• One year of experience conducting social/recreational programs in the past five years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and delivering activity/recreational programs to promote residents' engagement and maintain functioning levels.
• Encourage resident participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, outings, religious, educational, and recreational activities.
• Complete activity documentation as trained, following regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Submit supplies list to the Activity/Recreation Director and receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintain precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assist with volunteer program organization and training, including recruitment.
• Assist Resident Council meetings when necessary.
• Help plan community activities involving residents, staff, and families.
• Create and post monthly calendars of activity programs.

Your Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the efforts of the Activity Director in the assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing of activity/recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the residents.

Principal Responsibilities

• Assists in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the residents’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.
• Encourages resident participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, community/center service activities, recreational activities, etc.
• Assists in completing activity documentation, when needed, if trained and in conjunction with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Submits supplies list to Activity/Recreation Director and submits receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assists Activity/Recreation Director in the organization and supervision of the volunteer program including recruiting and training volunteers.
• Assists with Resident Council Meetings when necessary.
• Assists in planning community activities that jointly include the community, staff, families and residents.
• Assists in the completion of a monthly calendar of available activity/recreational programs and posts it in the center.
• Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or assigned at any time with or without notice.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• One-year experience working in long term care.
• One years of experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years, preferred.
