Job summary

Oak Park Place in Burlington, WI is seeking an energetic Activity Assistant to join the Activities team. Hours are 8am-4:30pm and 12pm-8pm, including every other weekend.

Experience is preferred but not required, and you will plan and run recreational events to enhance well-being and socialization for residents. As part of Oak Park Place, you’ll collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs and contribute to a supportive, caring community.

Qualifications

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Previous experience with the elderly preferred.
• Previous experience in an activities role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute a well-balanced activity program.
• Organize, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities, such as arts, crafts, and games.
• Generate positivity and encourage resident participation.
• Work with all departments to ensure resident needs are met.
• Assess the needs and interests of individuals and groups and plan activities accordingly.

The Activity Assistant job responsibilities include planing, organizing, and implementing recreational and social events to enhance the well-being of residents with a goal of promoting regular socialization and physical activity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working under the direction of the Activity Director you will help organize, plan, and execute a well-balanced activity program
• Organize, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities, such as arts, crafts, and games
• Generate positivity and encourage resident participation
• Work with all departments to ensure resident needs are being met
• Assess the needs and interests of individuals and groups and plan activities accordingly

Requirements

Activity Assistant Qualifications

• Previous experience working with the elderly preferred
• Previous experience in an activity’s role preferred
