Job summary

Oak Park Place in Dubuque, IA is seeking an Activity Assistant to plan, organize, and implement recreational and social events that enhance residents' well-being and promote regular social interaction and physical activity.

Under the supervision of the Activity Director, you will coordinate arts, crafts, games, and outdoor activities, encourage participation, and work with all departments to meet residents' needs.

Qualifications

• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Previous experience with the elderly preferred.
• Previous experience in an activity’s role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Activity Director in organizing and executing a balanced activity program.
• Lead and promote arts, crafts, and games.
• Encourage resident participation and generate a positive atmosphere.
• Coordinate with all departments to meet resident needs.

The Activity Assistant job responsibilities include planing, organizing, and implementing recreational and social events to enhance the well-being of residents with a goal of promoting regular socialization and physical activity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working under the direction of the Activity Director you will help organize, plan, and execute a well-balanced activity program
• Organize, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities, such as arts, crafts, and games
• Generate positivity and encourage resident participation
• Work with all departments to ensure resident needs are being met
• Assess the needs and interests of individuals and groups and plan activities accordingly

Activity Assistant Qualifications

• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Previous experience working with the elderly preferred
• Previous experience in an activity’s role preferred
