Job summary

Isles of Boynton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boynton Beach, FL is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activities Director in planning and delivering engaging programs that enhance residents' well-being.

You will help create monthly calendars, arrange transportation to activities, and document participation while communicating with residents and families. This full-time role requires a high school diploma and CNA certification, with strong teamwork and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid CNA license/certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing home experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Activities Director in creating and posting monthly activity calendars.
• Place activity calendars in each resident's room.
• Interview residents/family to identify activity preferences.
• Coordinate resident transportation to activities within the facility.
• Assist in conducting scheduled programs promoting well-being.
• Document attendance and progress notes reflecting participation.
• Observe mood and engagement and report changes to the Activities Director.
• Encourage resident and family involvement in planning when possible.

Location: Boynton Beach, FL
Shift: Full-Time | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Salary: $16 per hour

Job Description

Isles of Boynton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the Activities Director in planning and delivering engaging programs that enhance the physical, social, and emotional well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting the Activities Director in creating and posting a monthly calendar of activities in large print for residents and visitors.


• Ensuring a copy of the activity calendar is placed in each resident’s room.


• Interviewing residents and/or family members to identify activity preferences.


• Coordinating and assisting residents in getting to and from activities within the facility.


• Assisting in conducting scheduled programs that promote overall well-being.


• Documenting resident attendance and completing progress notes that reflect participation and response.


• Observing resident mood, behavior, and engagement levels, reporting changes or concerns to the Activities Director.


• Encouraging resident and family involvement in activity planning when possible.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).


• Valid CNA license/certification (required).


• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a nursing home setting (preferred).


• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
