Job summary

West Delray Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Delray Beach, Florida, is seeking an energetic Activities Assistant to support planning and leading engaging resident activities.

You will work part-time, coordinating and facilitating recreational and social activities, games, crafts, and group events, while fostering a caring and inclusive atmosphere for residents and their families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in activities, recreation, customer service, or related field preferred.
• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with residents and their families to understand individual interests and preferences.
• Provide one-on-one visits and companionship for residents requiring individualized engagement.
• Assist with transporting residents safely to and from activities when needed.
• Prepare activity rooms, equipment, and supplies before programs and clean up afterward.
• Observe resident participation and document attendance, engagement, and responses to activities.
• Maintain activity supplies and assist with inventory management.
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to promote resident-centered programming.
• Follow all facility policies, safety standards, and state and federal regulations.
