Job summary

Beach Breeze Rehab & Care in West Palm Beach, FL is hiring an Activities Assistant to plan, coordinate, and run engaging recreational and therapeutic activities for residents. The role focuses on improving quality of life through meaningful programs and companionship.

You will support planning, lead music, crafts, exercise, and social events, and collaborate with a care team to meet residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs. Full-time hours with day-evening shifts available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in activities, recreation, customer service, or related field preferred.
• Experience with geriatric, rehab, or long-term care populations preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Enthusiastic, patient, and compassionate approach to resident care.
• Must be dependable, flexible, and professional.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting daily recreational and social activities.
• Lead and participate in games, arts and crafts, music programs, exercise groups, events, and celebrations.
• Encourage resident participation and promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
• Develop meaningful relationships with residents and families to understand interests.
• Provide one-on-one visits and companionship as needed.
• Assist with transporting residents to and from activities when appropriate.
• Set up, organize, and clean activity areas and equipment before and after events.
• Observe and document resident participation, engagement, and responses to activities.
• Help maintain activity supplies and inventory.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident-centered care and programming.
• Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Position Summary
