Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services in Beaumont, TX is seeking an Activity Aide to assist the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing the residents’ activity program.

You will collaborate with staff to organize events for both high- and low-functioning residents, help with calendars and newsletters, and participate in community activities and in-services. Nights and weekends may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.
• Experience in activity/recreational department in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordinating and directing the residents’ activity program.
• Facilitate individual and group activities based on residents’ needs.
• Assist with scheduling beauty/ barber activities and calendar posting.
• Create and post monthly calendars and resident newsletters.
• Support Residents’ Council and night/weekend activities as needed.
• Assist residents to and from activities and deliver mail daily.

Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Activity Aide will be responsible for assisting the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing the residents’ activity program.The Activity Aide collaborates with the Activity Director in organizing various employee and non-employee events for the facility.Essential FunctionsFacilitate both individual and group activities based on the individual needs of the residents.Ensure that activities are occurring for both high and low functioning residentsAssist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activitiesProvide activities for residents that are bedfast and/or unable to participate in group activities (one to one) and document in the appropriate recordAssist with the preparation of monthly calendar and posting in an area accessible, highly visible and frequented by residents and visitors.
