Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services in Rockport, TX seeks an Activity Aide to support the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing residents' activity programs. You will collaborate to organize employee and non-employee events for the facility and help deliver daily resident mail.

The role requires facilitating activities for both high and low functioning residents, preparing monthly calendars, and assisting with newsletters.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in activity or recreation in long-term care preferred.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) preferred.
• Strong communication and empathy with residents.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate individual and group activities based on residents' needs.
• Coordinate activities for residents with varying functioning levels.
• Assist with scheduling beauty parlor/barber activities.
• Provide one-to-one activities for bedfast residents and document appropriately.
• Prepare monthly calendars and post them in accessible, visible areas.
• Assist with generating the facility newsletter.
• Participate in community events related to facility interests.
• Assist residents to and from activities and attend in-services as needed.
• Deliver resident mail daily.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Activity Director or Administrator.

Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Activity Aide will be responsible for assisting the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing the residents’ activity program.The Activity Aide collaborates with the Activity Director in organizing various employee and non-employee events for the facility.Essential FunctionsFacilitate both individual and group activities based on the individual needs of the residents.Ensure that activities are occurring for both high and low functioning residentsAssist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activitiesProvide activities for residents that are bedfast and/or unable to participate in group activities (one to one) and document in the appropriate recordAssist with the preparation of monthly calendar and posting in an area accessible, highly visible and frequented by residents and visitors.
