Job summary

Yoakum Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Activity Aide to assist the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing residents' activity programs. You will collaborate with staff to organize events for the facility and ensure residents have meaningful activities each day.

Responsibilities include facilitating activities for all residents, aiding with calendars and communications, and supporting special events, residents' council, and weekend programming.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in activity or recreation in long-term care is preferred.
• Ability to work with residents with varying functioning levels and needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide activities for bedfast residents and document in records.
• Assist with monthly calendars and posting in visible areas; provide calendars to residents.

• Support Residents’ Council, night/weekend activities, and assist residents to/from activities.

Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Activity Aide will be responsible for assisting the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing the residents’ activity program.The Activity Aide collaborates with the Activity Director in organizing various employee and non-employee events for the facility.Essential FunctionsFacilitate both individual and group activities based on the individual needs of the residents.Ensure that activities are occurring for both high and low functioning residentsAssist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activitiesProvide activities for residents that are bedfast and/or unable to participate in group activities (one to one) and document in the appropriate recordAssist with the preparation of monthly calendar and posting in an area accessible, highly visible and frequented by residents and visitors.
