Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services in Bastrop, TX seeks an Activity Aide to support the Activity Director in planning and directing residents’ activity programs. You will help organize events for staff, residents, and visitors, and assist with one-to-one activities for bedfast residents.

The role requires coordinating with the activities team, facilitating various activities, and assisting with calendar preparation and newsletters.

Qualifications

• School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.
• Experience in activity/recreational dept in long-term care preferred.
• Ability to assist residents with varying needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Activity Director in planning, coordinating and directing resident activities.
• Collaborate to organize events for facility staff and residents.
• Facilitate individual and group activities for residents with different functioning levels.
• Assist with scheduling beauty parlor/barber activities and calendar preparation.
• Support bedfast residents with one-on-one activities and document appropriately.
• Help prepare monthly calendars and newsletters; post visibly for residents and visitors.
• Participate in community events and attend necessary in-services.
• Assist residents to and from activities and deliver mail daily.

Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Activity Aide will be responsible for assisting the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing the residents’ activity program.The Activity Aide collaborates with the Activity Director in organizing various employee and non-employee events for the facility.Essential FunctionsFacilitate both individual and group activities based on the individual needs of the residents.Ensure that activities are occurring for both high and low functioning residentsAssist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activitiesProvide activities for residents that are bedfast and/or unable to participate in group activities (one to one) and document in the appropriate recordAssist with the preparation of monthly calendar and posting in an area accessible, highly visible and frequented by residents and visitors.
