Job summary

Bastrop Lost Pines Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Activity Aide to support the Activity Director in planning and directing the residents' activity program. The role involves coordinating employee and resident activities, facilitating individual and group sessions, and helping create monthly calendars and newsletters.

The ideal candidate will assist with scheduling, participate in in-services, and help with night and weekend activities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in activity or recreational department in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in planning and directing the residents’ activity program.
• Collaborate on organizing staff and resident events for the facility.
• Facilitate individual and group activities based on residents' needs and abilities.
• Assist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activities; provide activities for bedfast residents (one-to-one).
• Prepare monthly calendar and post in accessible, visible areas; provide calendars to residents.
• Assist with generating the facility newsletter and supporting community events.
• Attend in-services as necessary and support night/weekend activities as needed.
• Assist residents to and from activities and manage related duties as assigned.

Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Activity Aide will be responsible for assisting the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing the residents’ activity program.The Activity Aide collaborates with the Activity Director in organizing various employee and non-employee events for the facility.Essential FunctionsFacilitate both individual and group activities based on the individual needs of the residents.Ensure that activities are occurring for both high and low functioning residentsAssist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activitiesProvide activities for residents that are bedfast and/or unable to participate in group activities (one to one) and document in the appropriate recordAssist with the preparation of monthly calendar and posting in an area accessible, highly visible and frequented by residents and visitors.
