Job summary

Vincentian Home in McCandless, PA is seeking a Full Time Activity Aide to join the Community Life Team.

You will coordinate daily programs, provide engagement for residents and intergenerational activities, and assist with transportation and event setup in a caring, resident-centered environment.

The role requires a High School diploma and NCCAP Activity Aide certification (or eligibility); daylight schedule with potential weekend work and benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent, required.
  • NCCAP Activity Aide Certified or certified eligible.
  • Experience in activities/life enrichment preferred.
  • Background in music or art preferred.
  • Driver’s license preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using a Content Management Writer is a plus.
  • Enthusiastic about partnering with residents, families and the community.

Vincentian Home in McCandless, PA in the North Hills is looking for a Full Time Activity Aide!


Daylight Schedule with occasional weekend availability, eligible for benefits!



Summary:

The Community Life Team Member (Activity Aide) is instrumental in the success of Vincentian's Community Life Department. They will assist with the coordination of daily operations of the department by implementing quality programs, one-to-one visits and sensory/environmental stimulation, engaging intergenerational programs and spaces (intentional and organic) for residents, children, students, families, staff and visitors within the personal care, independent living, long-term or skilled rehabilitation service lines.



It is the duty of all employees to promote and support a resident centered care environment that ensures the treatment of all residents, family members, visitors, fellow employees and customers with kindness, respect, and dignity.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Commits to the Vincentian Collaborative System (VCS) mission to nurture and sustain a ministry of compassionate care that preserves the human dignity of persons within a diverse and changing society.


2. Upholds and promote the VCS values of spirituality, compassion, quality, dignity, collaboration, advocacy, stewardship and innovation.


3. Promotes and supports a resident centered care environment that ensures the treatment of all residents, family members, visitors, fellow employees and customers with kindness, respect, and dignity.


4. Assist with the execution of memorable programs, experience sand activities for individuals and groups that encourage socialization, foster social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, sensory, and physical enrichment and promotes lifelong learning amongst our residents.


5. Incorporate the eight dimensions of wellness and intergenerational practices into all experiences.


6. Ensures the implementation, and evaluation of all programming, processes, and delivery of service excellence that aligns with organizational strategy and mission


7. Provides five-star quality, superior service and extraordinary responsiveness as perceived by our residents and families, ensuring resident satisfaction levels are achieved, while cultivating meaningful relationships and connections


8. Operates independently and with teams, demonstrates superior attention to detail, and shows compassion with all interactions and decision-making.


9. Assists with operational needs, i.e., transports/assists residents to and from activities as necessary, facility management, etc.


10. Identifies and documents in the resident’s care plan the activity interests, needs and related problem of the resident.


11. Documents all interactions with resident and/or family in the assessment and care plan as required by state standards.


12. Adheres to all current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, regulations and the facilities established policies and procedures.


13. Observes and reports pertinent information related to resident care to Manager of Community Life.


14. Maintains neatness of all activity areas including proper storage of materials on the communities, activity storage room and infection control of activity supplies.


15. Communicates effectively with residents, family members, volunteers, and other members of the health care team.


16. Attends required department meetings, educational programs and complete all required DOH and Vincentian training.


17. Assists with training and supervision of new personnel and volunteers, as assigned


18. Performs all other duties assigned.



Education/Experience:

1. High school graduate or equivalent, required.


2. NCCAP Activity Aide Certified or certified eligible


3. Previous experience in activities/life enrichment, preferred.


4. Background in music or art, preferred.


5. Current/valid driver’s license preferred but not required.


6. Driving ability preferred by not required.


7. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


8. Experience using a Content Management Writer is a plus.

  • Very comfortable with learning, operating and explaining technology and software systems to non-technical audience (i.e. computers, tablets, smart devices, online platforms, etc.)

  • Not intimidated by technology and the use of applications to maintain efficient programs and daily operations

  • Adaptable to change.

  • Willing to work a fluid schedule based on community needs that may sometimes include an evening and/or weekend.
