Job summary

Signature HealthCARE of McCreary County Rehab & Wellness Center is seeking an Activities Director to lead a diverse program that promotes social, spiritual, and psychological well-being for residents. You will design engaging events, coordinate resources, and ensure daily activities meet individual needs.

The role requires a therapeutic recreation credential or equivalent, plus two years of relevant experience and one year in a health-care activities program.

Qualifications

• Therapeutic recreation degree or certification.
• Certified Activity Director by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals.
• Two years in a social or recreational program with one year full-time in resident activities in health care.
• One to two years of management/supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and verify assistance for residents for activities and events.
• Provide in-room activities for residents unable to attend daily events.
• Create an ongoing activities calendar meeting diverse needs.

How You Will Make a Difference

Our Activities Directors make a difference in the lives of our residents by planning, organizing, and directing a wide variety of activities that promote social, spiritual, and psychological needs.

• Coordinate and verify that assistance is provided to residents for activities and events as necessary.
• Provide in room activities for residents who are unable to attend daily events.
• Create an ongoing calendar of activities, which creatively meets multiple needs and is accessible and appealing to both men and women of all ages and abilities.

What You Need To Make a Difference

• Degree and certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist; or
• Certified Activity Director by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals; or
• Two (2) years’ experience in a social or recreational program within the past five (5) years, in which one (1) year was full time in a resident activities program in a health care setting; or
• Prior completion of a state approved training course.
• One (1) to two (2) years management/supervisory experience.
