Job summary

Signature HealthCARE of Roanoke Rapids is seeking an Activities Director to plan, organize, and direct a wide variety of activities that meet social, spiritual, and psychological resident needs. You will coordinate support for events and provide in-room activities for residents unable to participate.

The role requires a degree and certification in therapeutic recreation or NCCAP, plus relevant experience and supervisory capability.

Qualifications

• Degree and certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or NCCAP-certified director.
• Two years’ experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, with one year in a health care setting.
• One to two years of management/supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and verify assistance for residents’ activities and events.
• Provide in-room activities for residents unable to attend daily events.
• Create and maintain an ongoing activity calendar that serves residents of all ages and abilities.

How you Will make a difference

Our Activities Directors make a difference in the lives of our residents by planning, organizing, and directing a wide variety of activities that promote social, spiritual, and psychological needs.

• Coordinate and verify that assistance is provided to residents for activities and events as necessary.
• Provide in room activities for residents who are unable to attend daily events.
• Create an ongoing calendar of activities, which creatively meets multiple needs and is accessible and appealing to both men and women of all ages and abilities.

What you Need to make a Difference

• Degree and certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist; or
• Certified Activity Director by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals; or
• Two (2) years’ experience in a social or recreational program within the past five (5) years, in which one (1) year was full time in a resident activities program in a health care setting; or
• Prior completion of a state approved training course.
• One (1) to two (2) years management/supervisory experience.
