What You Will Do as an Activity Aide

Responsibilities

As a Stonerise activity aide, you will assist the Activities Director with the planning, coordinating training, administering of the activities and social programs for the center. Some of your primary responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Activities Director with activities that will provide entertainment, communication, exercise, relaxation, and expression of creativity
  • Assisting with programs designed to fulfill basic psychological and spiritual needs of the patients
  • Encouraging hobbies and crafts among patients in groups or individually
  • Integrating activities with other services and care provided for the patients
  • Ascertaining from the physician's orders any limitations that the patient may have in participating in activities
  • Assisting in planning parties, games, and encouraging patients to assist in planning (e.g., making decorations for holidays/special events)
  • Providing in room activities to patients unable to leave their rooms
  • Assuring the programs address and contain empowerment, maintenance, and supportive activities
