Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking an Activities Director HCC to oversee a comprehensive recreation program designed to meet the interests and well-being of residents. You will manage staff, design monthly calendars, coordinate outings, and ensure residents stay engaged through a variety of activities and events.

This role requires leadership in budgeting, policy updates, and collaboration with the Administration to maximize residents’ physical, mental and psycho-social well-being in a long-term care

Qualifications

• Minimum two years college education with courses in recreation, education, social work or other behavioral sciences.
• Two years’ experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, with one year full-time in a long-term health care setting; or one year in a supervisory role within recreation.
• Eligible for certification as Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or as an Activities professional by a recognized accrediting body.
• Preferred qualifications include Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant, or satisfactory

Responsibilities

• Assumes authority for designing Recreation programs to meet residents' interests and functional levels.
• Hires and retains qualified staff; conducts interviews and performance reviews; ensures staff meet standards.
• Participates in department budget planning and communicates needs to the Administrator.
• Plans and organizes two travel trips per year and annual events; coordinates daily activities, outings, and in-house entertainment.
• Ensures residents are informed of upcoming activities and maintains policy procedures for Recreation Services.
