Qualifications

• Minimum two years college education with courses in recreation, education, social work or related fields.
• Two years’ experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, with one year in a resident activities program in a long term health care setting.
• Eligible for certification as therapeutic Recreation Specialist or as an Activities professional by a recognized accrediting body.

Responsibilities

• Designs Recreation programs meeting residents' needs and interests.
• Develops and implements activities to fit schedules (morning, afternoon, evening, weekend).
• Hires, trains, and evaluates staff to provide recreation services.
• Maintains Recreation Services policies and participates in budgeting.
