Position Overview:

The Life Enrichment Director (Activities Director) develops holistic activity programs to meet the diverse needs of residents, through assessment and evaluation.

Qualifications:
  • BS in Recreation Therapy (preferred) or relevant human service degree with experience
  • BS in Occupational Therapy with experience
  • Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant with experience
  • Associate degree in human services with experience
  • Certified Activity Director (NCCAP or state-specific) with relevant experience
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Certified Recreation Therapist (preferred)
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Certified Activity Director (NCCAP or state-specific)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess residents' abilities and interests to develop personalized activity plans.
  • Complete MDS and RAPS assessments timely.
  • Document and evaluate resident responses and activity plan effectiveness.
  • Manage budgets for equipment and supplies.
  • Implement activities using models like biopsychosocial, music therapy, pet therapy, etc.
  • Coordinate speakers, trips, and community volunteer efforts.
  • Supervise Resident Activity Assistants.
Additional Functions:
  • Collaborate with rehabilitation, social services, and nutrition teams.
  • Ensure documentation and program evaluation using quality indicators.
  • Assist with discharge planning through activity insights.
