Job summary

Sycamore Manor is seeking an Activities Director to plan, organize, and lead a program of activities and leisure pursuits for residents in accordance with their care plan.

The role requires a passion for seniors, a flexible and energetic personality, and strong communication skills. A Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related field with appropriate licensure is preferred, with relevant LTC/healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area; licensed or registered by national or state authorities.
• Minimum of one year as an Activities Director in LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting.
• Two years of experience conducting social and recreational programs in healthcare within past five years.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

What Will You Do in This Role?

As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a program of activity and leisure pursuits designed to meet the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs and interests of residents in accordance with the comprehensive resident care plan.

Do You Have What It Takes?

• A fire and passion for working with seniors
• A flexible, fun, and energetic personality
• Accreditation as a Certified Activities Director preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area. Should be licensed or registered either nationally or by the State in which practicing.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an Activities Director in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting.
• Two years of experience conducting social and recreational programs within the past five years, one of which must be full-time in a resident activities program in a health care setting.
• Professional image in both appearance and behaviour
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
