Job summary

McKay Manor Senior Living is seeking an Activities Director to plan, organize, and implement a comprehensive program of activities and leisure pursuits for residents. The role focuses on meeting social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs in accordance with the resident care plan.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related field, plus licensure or registration as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area with national or state licensure/registration.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an Activities Director in LTC/SNF/AL/MC settings.
• Two years of experience conducting social and recreational programs, with at least one year full-time in a resident activities program in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement a program of activity and leisure pursuits for residents.
• Align activities with the resident care plan to meet social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational, and physical needs.

What Will You Do in This Role?

As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a program of activity and leisure pursuits designed to meet the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs and interests of residents in accordance with the comprehensive resident care plan.

Do You Have What It Takes?

• A fire and passion for working with seniors
• A flexible, fun, and energetic personality
• Accreditation as a Certified Activities Director preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area. Should be licensed or registered either nationally or by the State in which practicing.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an Activities Director in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting.
• Two years of experience conducting social and recreational programs within the past five years, one of which must be full-time in a resident activities program in a health care setting.
• Professional image in both appearance and behavior
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
