Tutera Senior Living & Health Care in Illinois is seeking an Activities Director to lead a comprehensive activity program for residents, aligning with care plans to meet social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs.

Ideal candidates bring a bachelor's in recreation therapy or related field, licensure, and experience directing programs in LTC/SNF/AL/MC settings; strong communication and professional presentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related field required or equivalent.
• Active license/registration with national or state body preferred.
• Experience coordinating senior activity programs is essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement a program of activities to meet residents' social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs per care plan.

What Will You Do in This Role?

As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a program of activity and leisure pursuits designed to meet the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs and interests of residents in accordance with the comprehensive resident care plan.

Do You Have What It Takes?

• A fire and passion for working with seniors


• A flexible, fun, and energetic personality


• Accreditation as a Certified Activities Director preferred.


• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area. Should be licensed or registered either nationally or by the State in which practicing.


• Minimum of one year of experience as an Activities Director in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting.


• Two years of experience conducting social and recreational programs within the past five years, one of which must be full-time in a resident activities program in a health care setting.


• Professional image in both appearance and behavior


• Excellent written and oral communication skills
