Job summary

Tutera Senior Living & Health Care is seeking an Activities Director in Sergeant Bluff, IA to plan and run engaging activity programs for residents, aligned with each resident’s care plan. You will lead social and recreational activities to meet diverse needs and promote well-being, with a passion for seniors and a professional image.

The role requires a degree in recreation therapy or related field and licensure/registration, plus prior experience in a health care setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area; must be licensed or registered.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an Activities Director in LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting.
• Two years of experience conducting social and recreational programs within the past five years, with at least one full-time in a resident activities program in health care.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

What Will You Do in This Role?

As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a program of activity and leisure pursuits designed to meet the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs and interests of residents in accordance with the comprehensive resident care plan.

Do You Have What It Takes?

• A fire and passion for working with seniors
• A flexible, fun, and energetic personality
• Accreditation as a Certified Activities Director preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area. Should be licensed or registered either nationally or by the State in which practicing.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an Activities Director in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting.
• Two years of experience conducting social and recreational programs within the past five years, one of which must be full-time in a resident activities program in a health care setting.
• Professional image in both appearance and behavior
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
