Position Details

  • Reports to: Director of Operations
  • Schedule: Full-time, Tuesday-Saturday
  • Location: Baldwinville, MA (On-site).

Job Duties

  • Provide an activities program on a daily basis including evenings and weekends.
  • Develop and implement specific programs based on the needs of the clients.
  • Organize activities to engage clients and encourage socialization.
  • Provide a plan of activities appropriate to the needs of the patients including, but not limited to: group social activities, indoor and outdoor activities, creative activities such as arts, crafts, music, drama and educational programs, and exercise activities
  • Prepare a monthly calendar of activities
  • Responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the department
  • Coordinate the activities program with other services in the facility.
  • Recruit, train and supervisor independent contractors when appropriate.
  • Ensure that the program adheres to any relevant state or local requirements.
  • Encourage patient participation in activities and document outcomes.
  • Obtain necessary equipment and supplies and provide for their accessibility through organized storage.
  • Participate with the Director of Operations in developing an activities budget.
  • Identify appropriate screening tool(s).
  • Perform assessments in consultant with clinical tea, on clients or program participants to determine what specific activities are advisable or suitable for their needs.
  • Plan specific activities and develops certain recreational programs to help address the needs addressed in the assessments.
  • Review program notes and goals and prepares reports.
  • May consult with other professionals including but not limited to medical staff, food service workers, nutritionists and clinical staff.
  • Help maintain a pleasant and cheerful environment.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver License.
  • A minimum of two years of experience
  • Maintains CPR certification, required.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
