Job summary

Holy Family Institute (HFI) is a 125-year-old Catholic organization serving children and families in the Pittsburgh region. The Activities Coordinator will organize and coordinate campus activities and volunteer projects, supporting a mission-driven program that serves youth across multiple counties.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Services, at least five years of residential experience, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years residential experience.
  • Supervisory or organizational development experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to document information accurately.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English preferred; PA driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and coordinates activities and campus-based volunteer activities and projects.
  • Promotes the Mission and Philosophy of Holy Family Institute.
  • Manages recreation activities and coordinates ticket donation program.

Hours: Full-Time. Possible Tuesday – Saturday shift with flexibility

General Statement of Duties: The Activities Coordinator will organize and coordinate activities, and campus-based volunteer activities and projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Promotes the Mission and Philosophy of Holy Family Institute.
  • Assists with the creation and implementation of a database for organizing children's activities.
  • Serves as primary contact in managing recreational activities and coordinates the ticket donation program.
  • Collaborate with residential staff, case managers, and education personnel in managing children's schedules.
  • Works effectively within the community providing extracurricular activities to children.
  • Manages the holiday activities for the program.
  • Manages unanticipated events and crisis situations in a positive, constructive manner.
  • Attends all meetings, and performs duties as directed by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Candidate must have a bachelor's degree (a master's degree is preferred) in the Human Services Field with a minimum of 5 years of residential experience.
  • Supervisory experience or organizational development experiences are a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
  • Strong knowledge of child and adolescent behavior, combined with the ability to build effective relationships and work efficiently with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Able to maintain electronic records and medical files, with strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must obtain Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.
  • Able to drive a car or van; mus have a valid PA driver's license
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (read, write and speak) preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
