Job description

Join our team! We are looking for someone part time/on call. This position requires evenings, weekends, and days.

Compensation

Pay rate is $18.00/hour.

Responsibilities
  1. Participate in planning and conducting individual, small, and large group activities.
  2. Assist in providing effective communication between employees, residents, families, support personnel, government agencies, and the public to meet residents' and community needs.
  3. Contribute to community planning related to facility interests and resident needs.
  4. Develop monthly activity calendars and maintain attendance records.
  5. Assist the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in developing and implementing plans to address quality deficiencies as directed by the Activities Director.
  6. Participate in discharge planning and develop resident activity care plans and assessments.
  7. Arrange transportation for residents for outings, appointments, or discharges.
  8. Develop and implement a monthly activity schedule, including outings, group activities, and in-room activities for bed-bound or isolated residents.
  9. Encourage residents to participate in self-initiated activities like hobbies, crafts, and reading; provide necessary materials, including Braille or audio books.
  10. Assist with documentation, quarterly progress notes, and keep the Activity Department organized and secure.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; one year of experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
  • Ability to read technical procedures and policy manuals.
  • Effective communication skills to present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Mathematical skills to apply concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret various instructions.
Physical and Work Environment

The role requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching may be necessary. Vision must include close, distance, and peripheral perception. The work environment is typically low to moderate noise, with accommodations available for disabilities.
