Qualifications

  • Experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior activity coordination in assisted living or nursing homes.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, geriatrics, and memory care best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with residents, families, and team members.
  • Ability to develop innovative programs for diverse resident needs and interests.
  • Experience with individuals with disabilities or special care requirements in long-term or home & community care environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, organize, and facilitate activities that promote social engagement and physical activity.
  • Create personalized activity plans aligned with resident preferences and care needs.
  • Assist residents with ADLs during activities as needed.
  • Foster warm rapport and a welcoming environment.
  • Coordinate with families and healthcare staff to align activities with residents' health conditions.
  • Schedule activities and manage setup, execution, and cleanup.
  • Maintain records of participation and outcomes for care planning.

Job Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Activities Assistants to join our vibrant team in both full-time and part-time capacities. In this role, you will play a vital part in enriching the lives of residents by planning, coordinating, and leading engaging activities tailored to their interests and needs. Duties
  • Develop, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities and resident events that promote social engagement, cognitive health, and physical activity.
  • Collaborate with team members to create personalized activity plans that meet individual resident preferences and care needs.
  • Assist residents with daily activities (Activities of Daily Living - ADLs) such as mobility, dressing, and personal hygiene as needed during activities.
  • Build strong rapport with residents through meaningful interactions, fostering a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Coordinate with families and healthcare staff to ensure activities align with residents' health conditions, including memory care or dementia-related needs.
  • Manage scheduling for activities and ensure timely setup, execution, and cleanup of events.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity outcomes to support care planning and regulatory compliance.
Skills
  • Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior activity coordination within assisted living or nursing home settings.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, geriatrics, and memory care best practices.
