Job summary

StoneRidge in Mystic, CT is seeking a part-time recreation aide to design and coordinate activities for residents on Sundays, 10am–4pm, 8 hours weekly. The role offers a supportive team environment in a senior living setting, with opportunities for growth and advancement.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED and a passion for enhancing residents' physical, social, cognitive, and spiritual well-being. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong communication skills are favored.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School diploma or GED.
• Experience working with seniors or in a health care setting preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to anticipate resident needs are qualities for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and implement calendar activities based on resident interests to meet their physical, social, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Create opportunities for daily 1:1 visits with residents to invite and inform of activities, conversation, support, etc.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation of the resident’s attendance and participation level.
• Distribute and post material regarding events, programs, activities, etc.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and inviting recreation space for residents, families, and staff.
• Communicate with Director of Therapeutic Recreation for supply, program, and resident need.
• Provide appropriate therapeutic recreation interventions for residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation.
