Job summary

StoneRidge Senior Living Community in Mystic, CT is seeking a part-time Recreation/Activity Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and implement calendar activities that meet residents' physical, social, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual needs.

You will conduct daily 1:1 visits with residents, document attendance, distribute event materials, maintain a welcoming recreation space, and collaborate with the Director of Therapeutic Recreation to deliver appropriate interventions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with seniors or health care setting preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to anticipate resident needs are qualities for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Planning, coordinating and implementing calendar activities based on resident population interests to meet physical, social, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Create opportunities for daily 1:1 visits with residents to invite and inform of activities, conversation, support, etc.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation of resident attendance and participation levels.
• Distribute and post materials regarding events, programs, activities, etc.
• Maintain an organized, clean, inviting recreation space for residents, families, and staff.
• Communicate with Director of Therapeutic Recreation for supply, program, and resident needs.
• Provide appropriate therapeutic recreation interventions for residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation.

Schedule: Part-time, 8-hours/week; every Sunday (10am-4pm)

Pay: $17.50-20.00/hour (depending on education/licensure level and employment experience)
