Job summary

Laramie Health and Rehabilitation in Laramie, WY is seeking an Activities Assistant who brings warmth and patience to interactions with residents. You will support group and individual activities, encouraging social engagement and daily participation as outlined in each resident’s Activity Plan.

Work closely with the Activities Director and nursing staff to transport residents, maintain activity spaces, and provide a friendly, comforting presence that enhances residents’ quality of life.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and support group activities that promote resident interaction.
• Notify residents and staff of activity schedules and changes.
• Visit residents one-on-one per direction of the Activities Director to provide companionship, sensory engagement, and personalized activity support.
• Assist in transporting residents to and from activity areas in collaboration with nursing staff.
• Maintain general housekeeping in activity areas to ensure a clean, safe environment.

Essential Functions:

• Implement group programming that promotes interaction between residents.
• Notifies residents and staff of activity schedules.
• Visits with residents on a one-to-one basis as directed by the Activities Director in order to provide:
• A friendly visitor.
• Sensory stimulation.
• Reality orientation.
• A means of meeting individual needs as outlined in each resident’s Activity Plan.
• Selects residents and communicates with nursing personnel for purpose of assistance in transporting residents to and from general activity areas.
• Responsible for general housekeeping duties in Activity areas
