Job summary

Christian Care Communities in Kentucky seeks an Activities Assistant to provide engaging programs for residents, supporting their physical, mental and psychosocial wellbeing in a faith-inspired, non-profit setting.

The role supports planning and supervising activities, coordinating with the Activity Director, assisting with transportation, and documenting care while delivering excellent customer service to residents and families.

Qualifications

• Preferred Education: Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical
• Required Experience: 1 year related experience
• Preferred Experience: 2 years' experience in a social or recreational program setting, at least one of which was in a resident activity program in a health care setting

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, scheduling, conducting and supervising activities/events for residents which provide entertainment, intercommunication, exercises, relaxation, intellectual development, and utilization of their talents
• Assists the Activity Director in the community the planning related to the interests of the Facility and the services and needs of the residents and families
• Encourages residents' religious participation, coordinates with Chaplain, and provides spiritual material to residents at their request
• Arranges transportation to outside events/activities when necessary
• Assists in planning and performing activities for room-bound residents including writing letters, running errands, reading, and securing material for residents with sensory and hearing deficiencies
• Encourages resident participation in activities when practical
• Responsible for the understanding of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) which consists of three basic components: the Minimum Data Set (MDS) Version 3.0, the Care Area Assessment (CAA) process, and the RAI Utilization Guidelines
• Assures appropriate charting documentation of activity related forms and assessments
• Personifies outstanding customer service to co-workers, clients and vendors by acting as a subject matter resource in a timely, considerate and friendly

The Activities Assistant is responsible for providing services that meet the interests and the physical, mental,

and psycho-social wellbeing of each resident to promote and maintain the residents' sense of usefulness to self

and others while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 10:30am-7:00pm

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
