Job summary

Gallaway Health and Rehab in Gallaway, TN is seeking an Activity Assistant to plan and lead engaging activities that enhance residents' social, cognitive, and emotional well-being. You will collaborate with the Recreation Therapy team to tailor programs and support daily care plans.

This role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, strong communication, and the ability to assist with resident transfers when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a healthcare or senior living setting preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead various activities, including games, arts, crafts, fitness classes, and social events, tailored to meet the diverse needs and interests of our residents
• Collaborate with the Recreation Therapy department to develop and implement activity programs that promote physical, social, and emotional well-being
• Assist in maintaining accurate records of resident participation, progress, and feedback
• Develop and promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages social interaction and community engagement
• Partner with other care team members to ensure that activities align with individualized care plans and meet the needs of our residents
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of activity programs and services
