Job summary

Royal invites you to join our caring family as an Activities Assistant at our skilled nursing facility. You will support residents through engaging individual and group activities, under the guidance of the Activities Director, and help implement care plans focused on resident well-being.

We offer a $500 sign-on bonus, weekly pay, tuition reimbursement, and an Employee Assistance Program to support you personally and professionally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident and staff information.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must relate professionally and positively with patients, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activities Director in enriching residents' intellectual, emotional and spiritual interests with individual or group activities.
• Develop, plan, organize, implement and evaluate activity programs.
• Prepare monthly activity calendar and plan written care plans for residents' activities.
• Participate in discharge planning and activity care plan development.
• Schedule programs, plan parties and provide games/activities for residents.
• Encourage participation in activities to stimulate physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being.

As an Activities Assistant, you will play a key role in providing exceptional long-term care, sub-acute care, and memory care. Your strong skills and commitment to resident-centered care will help us meet the evolving needs of those we serve.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Including, but not limited to:

• Assist the Activities Director in enhancing and supporting the resident's intellectual, emotional and spiritual interests, talents, and hobbies with individual or group activities.
• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs of the facility.
• Assist in developing and planning the monthly program calendar.
• Assist in developing a written plan of care for each resident's activity program.
• Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Implement activity procedures as directed by the Activity Director.
• Assist in scheduling programs, planning parties, and providing games/activities for residents.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities of daily living that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.
• All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in long-term care or other healthcare settings is a plus.
• Experience working with Alzheimer's/Dementia patients is a plus.
• Experience in Long Term Care
• Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding employee, resident and company

• Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels
• Must possess computer skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
