Job summary

Royal Health Group's Wayland Nursing Home in Wayland, MA is seeking an Activities Assistant to support resident-centered programs across long-term, sub-acute and memory care. You will assist the Activities Director in planning and delivering engaging activities, maintain monthly calendars, and help implement individual care plans.

We offer a $500 sign-on bonus, health insurance benefits on day one, weekly pay, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in long-term care or other healthcare settings is a plus.
  • Experience working with Alzheimer's/Dementia patients a plus.
  • Experience in Long Term Care
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding employee, resident and company proprietary information.
  • Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels.
  • Must possess computer skills of the types and at a level necessary to accomplish the job.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Activities Director in enhancing and supporting the resident's intellectual, emotional and spiritual interests, talents, and hobbies with individual or group activities.
  • Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs of the facility.
  • Assist in developing and planning the monthly program calendar.
  • Assist in developing a written plan of care for each resident's activity program.
  • Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
  • Implement activity procedures as directed by the Activity Director.
  • Assist in scheduling programs, planning parties and providing games/activities for residents.
  • Encourage residents to participate in activities of daily living that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally socially and spiritually.
  • All other duties as assigned.
