Join Our Team as an Activities Assistant at CommuniCare Health Services

Brookside Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is currently hiring an Activities Assistant. Our trained personnel encourage residents' socialization and community involvement, turning the challenges of aging, rehabilitation, and recovery into positive experiences.

Shift: 8 am - 4:30 pm

Job Duties & Responsibilities

1. Lead a variety of activities, including one-to-one and group activities on/off assigned units, outside, and in the community (outings) for a diverse population.
2. Provide supplies and equipment for residents to participate in individual activities.
3. Assist with planning, developing, coordinating, and evaluating resident-centered activities.
4. Help decorate for holidays, outings, and special events.
5. Escort residents to and from activities as needed.
6. Follow up on behavioral episodes and interventions with residents.
7. Advocate for residents' needs, interests, preferences, and rights.
8. Maintain up-to-date activity documentation for each resident.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is energetic, passionate, creative, gentle, responsible, and hardworking. Comfort with confused residents and a willingness to find fulfillment in small ways are essential. Other qualifications include:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of work or life experience, preferably in healthcare
• Ability to make independent decisions
• Tactful communication with team members, residents, families, and the public
• Ability to plan and organize activities
• Basic computer skills
