The Arbor Company is seeking an Activities Assistant to join our Memory Care team. In this role, you will plan and lead engaging, dementia-friendly activities that promote cognitive stimulation and social connection for residents.

Weekend availability is required; prior memory care experience is essential. You will collaborate with our Memory Care team to tailor experiences to individual interests and memory stages, bringing energy, compassion, and creativity to every day.

• Weekend availability including weekends or every other weekend is required.
• Demonstrates a compassionate, patient, and creative approach to supporting residents with memory loss.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging, dementia-friendly activities that promote cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and emotional well-being.
• Create meaningful experiences tailored to residents' interests and memory stages.
• Support the Memory Care engagement program through purposeful programming.
• Build relationships with residents and families to help each resident feel valued and connected.
• Adapt activities for varying cognitive and physical abilities.
• Collaborate with the Memory Care team to maintain a positive, engaging environment.

What You'll Do as a Memory Care Activities Assistant

• Plan and lead engaging, dementia-friendly activities that promote cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and emotional well-being.

• Create meaningful experiences tailored to residents' individual interests, abilities, and stages of memory loss.

• Support our six-dimensional engagement program through creative, purposeful programming.

• Build genuine relationships with residents and their families, helping each resident feel valued and connected.

• Adapt activities to accommodate varying cognitive and physical abilities.

• Collaborate with the Memory Care team to create a positive, supportive, and engaging environment.

• Bring energy, creativity, compassion, and enthusiasm to each workday!

What We're Looking For

• Required: Previous experience working with seniors living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory-related conditions.

• Required: Availability to work weekends or every other weekend.

• Experience in senior living, Memory Care, activities programming, caregiving, or a related field.

• Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with residents experiencing cognitive changes.

• A creative personality and passion for planning activities that bring happiness and purpose to others.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
