Job summary

Avalon Rehab & Care Center in Wayne, NJ looks for a Weekend Activities Aide to plan and lead recreational activities that engage residents, promote social interaction, movement, and creativity, and build meaningful connections.

The role involves assisting with planning, facilitating games, crafts, music, and group programs, plus providing one-on-one activities in a warm, welcoming setting. Schedule: every other Saturday and Sunday, 9A-5P, four shifts monthly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and leading recreational and social activities for residents
• Encourage residents to participate in games, crafts, music, entertainment, and group programs
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who may prefer individualized engagement
• Help prepare activity materials, supplies, and the activity area
• Encourage resident interaction and participation in a positive, welcoming environment
• Assist with special events, holiday programs, and community activities
• Interact with residents in a friendly, respectful, and compassionate manner
• Observe resident preferences and interests and communicate them to the Recreation/Activities team
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting activity environment
• Follow facility policies and resident safety guidelines

Do you enjoy bringing energy, positivity, and a little fun to the people around you? Avalon Rehab & Care Center is looking for a weekend Activities Aide to join our team and help create meaningful, engaging experiences for our residents.

In this role, you’ll help plan and facilitate recreational activities that encourage socialization, creativity, movement, and connection. Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to build genuine relationships with residents and make their days brighter.

Schedule: Every other Saturday and Sunday 9A-5P, 4 shifts per month.

What You’ll Do as a Activities Aide

• Assist with planning and leading recreational and social activities for residents
