Job summary

Avalon Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking a Weekend Activities Aide to create meaningful, engaging experiences for residents. You will plan, lead, and facilitate recreational activities that promote socialization, movement, and creativity, while building genuine connections with residents.

This part-time role offers weekend shifts (every other Saturday and Sunday, 9 AM–5 PM) with opportunities to support special events and community activities in a warm, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and leading recreational activities.
• Ability to encourage participation in games, crafts, music and group programs.
• Ability to provide individualized engagement for residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and leading recreational and social activities for residents
• Encourage residents to participate in games, crafts, music, entertainment, and group programs
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who may prefer individualized engagement
• Help prepare activity materials, supplies, and the activity area
• Encourage resident interaction and participation in a positive, welcoming environment
• Assist with special events, holiday programs, and community activities
• Interact with residents in a friendly, respectful, and compassionate manner
• Observe resident preferences and interests and communicate them to the Recreation/Activities team
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting activity environment
• Follow facility policies and resident safety guidelines

Do you enjoy bringing energy, positivity, and a little fun to the people around you? Avalon Rehab & Care Center is looking for a weekend Activities Aide to join our team and help create meaningful, engaging experiences for our residents.

In this role, you’ll help plan and facilitate recreational activities that encourage socialization, creativity, movement, and connection. Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to build genuine relationships with residents and make their days brighter.

Schedule: Every other Saturday and Sunday 9A-5P, 4 shifts per month.

What You’ll Do as a Activities Aide

• Assist with planning and leading recreational and social activities for residents

• Encourage residents to participate in games, crafts, music, entertainment, and group programs

• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who may prefer individualized engagement

• Help prepare activity materials, supplies, and the activity area
