Job summary

The Ohio Department of Veterans Services Georgetown location is seeking compassionate staff to support residents at the Southern Ohio Veterans Home. The role offers a part-time evening schedule (4pm–8pm) with a starting hourly pay of $20.17 with increases, and opportunities for overtime and tuition reimbursement.

You will contribute to activity therapy, assist residents, and maintain records, while working in a supportive team that values service to veterans.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Assisting higher-level activity therapists in implementation of activity therapy
• Monitor residents participating in activity therapy & recreational activities
• Provide an environment that promotes resident socialization & interaction
• Escort &/or transport residents to & from activities
• Provide assistance to volunteers transporting residents
• Maintain records of attendance &/or participation for Activity Plan of Care

The Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown offers 168 beds for nursing home care. Two levels of care are offered: standard care for veterans in need of any intermediate level of care, and memory care for veterans with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia.
