Qualifications

• ACPE Certified Educator in good standing
• Master’s level theological degree or equivalent required
• Several years of clinical training in chaplaincy and supervision
• Ordination or commissioning by a recognized religious group
• Current endorsement for chaplaincy by a recognized religious group
• Appearance before a national certifying commission for competency assessment
• Board Certified Chaplain by major associations preferred

Responsibilities

• Conducts programs of CPE training according to ACPE standards.
• Plans and administers the overall CPE training program, including accreditation.
• Designs curriculum for student-centered learning.
• Conducts admissions interviews and handles application materials.
• Assigns, reviews, and comments on students’ written materials.
• Evaluates students’ personal and professional functioning and prepares evaluative reports.
• Oversees in-service education related to pastoral care to increase staff skills.
• Collaborates with other pastoral care providers at Mary Washington Healthcare.
