Job summary

Ochsner Health System Careers is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care in a hospital setting, covering neonatal to geriatric patients. You will perform therapeutic procedures, monitor and document patient data, and educate staff and patients on care plans.

Required credentials include an active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice, NBRC CRT credential, and BLS; ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire; NRP for NICU if applicable.

Qualifications

• Required: Associate's Degree and current Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice.
• Credentialed by NBRC as Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• BLS; ACLS within 90 days; PALS within 90 days; NRP for NICU where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care age-appropriately from neonatal to geriatric.
• Maintains professional certifications and up-to-date knowledge of procedures.
• Attends staff meetings; performs other related duties as required.
