Pape-Dawson Engineers Inc. is seeking an Accounts Receivable Team Lead to support and lead our Accounting Shared Services function in San Antonio.

The role centers on Accounts Receivable and Collections while aligning with Billing, Project Set Up, Cash Applications, Operations, and Project Managers within the Order-to-Cash process. The ideal candidate has hands-on A/R experience, can coach others, and will strengthen processes as the firm grows through expansion and acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business.
• 5+ years of Accounts Receivable, Collections, Order-to-Cash, or Shared Services experience.
• 2+ years leadership experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, Order-to-Cash, or Shared Services.
• Strong working knowledge of A/R aging, collections, customer account reconciliation, dispute resolution, and payment follow-up.
• Experience communicating with customers regarding past-due balances, invoice status, payment timing, and account issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day A/R and collections activities, focusing on reducing past-due balances and improving cash flow.
• Review A/R aging and prioritize collection efforts (31+, 61+, 90+, high-risk).
• Support key A/R reporting: aging trends, Top 50 past-due accounts, collection notes, disputes, escalation items.
• Collaborate with customers’ Accounts Payable to resolve delays, missing invoices, portal issues, disputes, short pays, and payment status questions.
• Ensure collection notes are clear, timely, consistent, and actionable; escalate when needed.
• Provide coaching and leadership to A/R team; monitor progress and assign work.
• Identify recurring issues and propose process improvements across A/R and Order-to-Cash.
