Job summary

Retif Oil & Fuel is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to support timely postings and accurate cash handling in a fast-paced environment.

You will post customer payments, reconcile deposits, initiate EFT drafts, and maintain ledgers while collaborating with the credit and sales teams. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in accounting, a high school diploma, and strong Word/Excel/Outlook skills with the ability to learn internal software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to learn internal accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Post customer payments timely by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
• Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions from lock box and local deposits.
• Reconcile credit card settlements.
• Initiate EFT drafts and send customer draft notices.
• Maintains records by microfilming invoices, debits, and credits.
• Daily balancing of prior day’s bank sheet to payments received.
• Research and solve payment discrepancies.
• Protect organization’s values by keeping information confidential.
• Resolve client-billing problems and reduce accounts receivable delinquency in a professional and timely manner.
• Make daily collection calls to negotiate with past due accounts, and send follow-up inquiries.
• Work with credit team, sales people, and other employees to ensure payment receipt and good customer relations.
• Monitor assigned accounts.
• Research delinquent accounts using all resources.
