Job summary

Stonhard is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage customer accounts, post receipts, and secure revenue by ensuring accurate posting of payments. This role emphasizes timely billing, discrepancy resolution, and collaboration with admin staff in New Jersey.

The position requires a high school diploma with related experience, 1–3 years in AR or customer service, and strong MS Office skills. A BS in Finance or Accounting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Verify discrepancies and resolve clients' billing issues.
• Facilitate payment of invoices by sending reminders and contacting clients.
• Generate financial statements and AR status reports.
• Execute waivers, sworn statements, affidavits with billings to secure payment.
• Communicate with admin to obtain additional paperwork needed to collect payment.
• Train and assist new AR Specialists.
• Mark ARs with collection codes for managers to evaluate problems.
• Review and apply money from suspense.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is primarily responsible for managing and maintaining customer accounts by sending out billing forms in a timely manner, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts.

Essential Functions

Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures

Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables' data

Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted

Verify discrepancies and resolve clients' billing issues

Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients

Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status

Executes waivers, sworn statements, affidavits, etc. to send with billings or to secure payment

Communicates to admin additional paperwork needed to collect payment

Trains and assists new AR Specialists

Mark ARs with collection codes for Managers to better evaluate problems

Reviews and applies money from suspense

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma with extensive experience in customer service field

One to three years prior related work experience

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

A self-starter capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing

Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Ability to take initiative in completing assigned work and projects

Preferred Requirements

BS Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred, or the equivalent coursework in a related specialized field

Physical Requirements

This position requires minimal physical activity but does require computer usage for an extended period of time - up to 8 hours a day

Benefits and Compensation

The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $24.04/hour and 28.85/hour. The range is an estimate based on potential employee qualification operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law
