Job summary

Johnson Electric in Plymouth, Michigan is seeking an Accounts Receivable Intern to support the AR Department and gain hands-on experience in a global manufacturing environment.

You will investigate unpaid invoices, assist with reporting, and reconcile customer accounts while collaborating with Sales, Customer Service, and HQ in Hong Kong. Local candidates preferred; relocation not available; pay range is $17–$22 per hour for January to April 2027, full-time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or currently pursuing a degree with expected graduation within the next year.
• Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• Microsoft Excel proficiency (bringing data from different systems into Excel spreadsheets and performing variance analysis)
• Experience using Oracle and Salesforce software (preferred)
• Organizational skills
• Communication skills

Responsibilities

• Investigate invoices not paid including following up with external and internal customers
• Tracking and reporting regarding samples
• Reconcile customer accounts
• Assist with assembling data to support various reporting to management including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
• Maintain documentation for compliance reporting and audits
• Assist with audit requests both internal and external
• Communicate and work cross functionally with other groups including Sales, Quality, Customer Service, Engineering, and headquarters in Hong Kong
