Job summary

Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is seeking an Accounts Receivable Accountant Advanced to support the FAMLI program. The role reconciles employer contribution accounts, prepares financial reports, and assists with audits and internal controls.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with auditing coursework and at least three years of accounting experience, with Excel and NetSuite familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting with auditing coursework is required.
• Three years of experience in examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems and reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced accounting analysis and reconciliation of employer contribution accounts, accounts receivable balances, deposits, refunds, overpayments, interest, penalties, and collection activities.
• Reviews, analyzes, and reconciles accounting transactions between FAMLI systems, NetSuite, banking records, and State financial systems.
• Prepare adjusting journal entries and supporting documentation; assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes; develop management reports and supporting schedules.
• Support audits and internal controls, and provide technical accounting guidance to management.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting with auditing coursework

CPA exam admission before July 1, 1974 considered as educational equivalence

Master's degree in accounting may substitute for one year of experience

CPA certification may substitute for one year of experience

US Armed Forces experience in Accounting Officer or Financial Management1:1 substitution
