Job summary

Experience Champaign Urbana is seeking an Accounting Technician I to process invoices, prepare and distribute checks, and liaise with internal and external customers. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely payments, and proper handling of departmental correspondence.

The position requires 1–4 years in accounting with emphasis on accounts payable and a HS diploma. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; benefits include health options and a structured incentive program, with an emphasis on compliance

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of accounting exposure, with emphasis on payables.
• Strong communication and organizational skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Processes check requests and prepares payments for distribution.
• Sorts and distributes departmental mail.
• Assist, investigate and respond to all requests pertaining to area of business.
• Process voids and/or stop payments using the bank software.
• Confirms, reconciles and pays approved expenditures promptly to avoid penalties.
• Monitor internal controls by obtaining proper authorizations and documenting governmental reporting data.
