Job summary

Bristol Hospital Incorporated is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee the AP staff and daily activities, ensuring accurate posting to ledgers and adherence to established policies. The role includes analyzing the payables ledger, prioritizing weekly payments, and maintaining the AP system for data integrity.

The ideal candidate has an AS in Business with accounting/finance focus or equivalent experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to supervise and improve AP processes

Qualifications

• A.S. in Business with a concentration in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Accounts Payable experience. Work history considered as substitute for degree.
• Computer literate; ability to use and manipulate Excel spreadsheet data.
• Ability to learn, use and report from general ledger and payables system.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the staff and activities of the Accounts Payable function.
• Prepares and examines entries posted to ledger for accuracy and compliance with established accounting procedures and policies.
• Analyzes monthly payables ledger and journals to assure proper posting to accounts.
• Monitors and controls accounts payable process.
• Maintains Accounts Payable computer system to ensure accurate recording of data.
• Responds to calls from vendors and employees seeking information on the status of payable accounts.
• Is responsible and accountable for practicing and maintaining quality customer service for both internal and external customers.
• Maintains records and files of paid and unpaid invoices.
• Identifies work processes which require improvement and develops process improvement standards.
