Job summary

Graham Media Group is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our centralized finance team. This role manages payables across seven TV stations and corporate offices, ensuring timely processing and accurate coding while supporting cost-saving initiatives.

Reporting to the VP/CFO, you will process invoices, manage purchasing cards, assist with month-end close, prepare 1099s, and help improve procedures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in accounts payable or similar role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Familiarity with Oracle highly desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Invoice Processing: assemble, review, code and submit invoices for approval; resolve discrepancies.
• Purchase Card Management: ensure charges are approved, coded and supported by receipts.
• Credit Card Assistance: support processing and reconciliation.
• Communicate payables discrepancies with Finance Directors and Department Heads.
• Post General Ledger transactions and assist with month-end close accruals.
• Analyze expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities for the group.
• Prepare supporting documentation for audits and maintain historical records.
• Review and optimize SOPs, integrations and workflows for efficiency.
• Contribute to key initiatives at leadership direction.
• Prepare and issue 1099s at year-end.
• Back up Accounts Receivable as needed.

Graham Media Group is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our centralized team. This role is responsible for managing accounts payable processes for multiple properties, including seven TV stations, Social News Desk, and corporate offices. Reporting directly to the VP/CFO, the ideal candidate will ensure timely and accurate payables processing while identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Invoice Processing: Assemble, review, verify, code, and submit invoices for approval. Resolve discrepancies and issues promptly.
• Purchase Card Management: Ensure charges are properly approved, coded, and supported by receipts.
• Credit Card Assistance: Support credit card processing and reconciliation.
• Communication: Address payables discrepancies with Finance Directors and Department Heads.
• General Ledger Transactions: Post transactions and assist with month-end close accruals.
• Expense Analysis: Analyze expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities across the group.
• Audit Support: Prepare supporting documentation for audits and maintain accurate historical records.
