Job summary

Woods Rogers is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our in-house accounting team in Roanoke or Norfolk. This full-time, in-office position handles vendor invoices, payments, and record-keeping.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of accounts payable or general accounting experience, strong communication skills, and a solid grasp of basic accounting principles. Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and General Ledger processes.
• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication with vendors and colleagues.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and employee reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain vendor files and ensure all records are current and complete.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly and professionally.
• Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Support closing procedures by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support the accounting team with special projects and audits as needed.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
