Job summary

Farm Credit Mid-America, a financial services cooperative serving farmers and rural residents in Kentucky, Indiana, and surrounding states, seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist. You will process vendor invoices and employee expenses, maintain documentation, and ensure timely payments in a controlled environment.

This full-time, hybrid role requires a high school diploma with 3 years’ relevant experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Demonstrated attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Processes and reconciles vendor invoices and employee expenses to ensure accurate coding and timely payment.
• Ensures accuracy and integrity of accounts payable transactions by reviewing invoices and entries.
• Reconciles AP system reports with general ledger and balances; investigates variances.
• Identifies and corrects payment and accounting exceptions (duplicates, mis-postings, etc.).
• Schedules payments, captures discounts, and resolves discrepancies with internal and external partners.
• Maintains corporate card program and monitors transactions to reduce misuse.
